This tutorial series revolves around Auction Design, do’s and dont’s and ideas to increase your success on My eAuctions. We are going to go through the most common phases of auction listings and try to answer the most common questions we get from sellers. If you have any questions this is the best place to start as the chances are your question is answered here and you will most likely learn something you didn’t already know as well.
My eAuctions supports several type of auctions. Which one you use will depend on your specific needs however most people prefer a Standard Auction. We will cover each of these types Standard Auction, Dutch Auction, Classified Advert and Fixed Price Sale.
Standard Auctions – Designed as the default for the vast majority of My eAuctions sellers. This allows the sale of one individual unique item at a time. All standard auctions offer many features most are free some that have minimal fees for them.
Dutch Auctions – These are auctions setup with multiple counts of the same item. If you have 10 widgets all exactly the same this is how you might want to list them. It doesn’t make sense to make 10 listings so use the Dutch Auction design. Keep in mind if you have 10 widgets in a Dutch Auction starting at .99 all 10 may sell for .99. This is usually best for high demand items or bulk sales of items. Using a good starting price that you can live with is a must.
Classified Adverts – (Premium Kaqoo site only) These are longer term advertisements in a classified layout. The options are very much the same but you have the option for 30, 60 or 90 day listings. Keep in mind with these that they do not come up in the browsing results unless the buyer clicks on Classifieds or Both. They do show up from searches. This is better utilized for actual classified things such as employment, business offerings, etc.
Fixed Price Sale – (Premium Kaqoo site only) This offers a Buy it Now price only. You set the price the buyer buys it immediately. No bidding occurs with items in these type of sales.
